Coaching

Head Coach (x1 per team) - It is ideal (but not required) for the Head Coach to have  knowledge of soccer skills and positioning. They will run the practices with the help of drills and  practice plans provided by the club. They plan to attend most soccer practices and games.

Assistant Coach (x1 per team) - The Assistant Coach role is to support the Head Coach  during practices and games. This role is also good for shift workers who are not able to  consistently attend practices and games. An Assistant Coach is paired with a Head Coach and  will run the practices and games when the Head Coach is absent.

Parent Assistant (x1-2 per team) - The Parent Assistant role is ideal for a parent who plans to  regularly accompany their player to games and practices, and who will be able to assist or lead a  practice or game throughout the season when one or both of the regular coaches are  absent.

Convening

Division Convener (x1 per division or 2 Co-Conveners) - The Div Convener is the point of  contact for the division during the season, both for off-field email communication and for on field access to balls and equipment. Their responsibilities include: providing communication and  assistance to coaches and parents, creating balanced teams and game schedules (for U8 & U10).  (Team creation is done randomly for U4 & U6, and there are no formal games played with other  teams. For U8 & U10, teams are based on player assessment information provided by coaches  and club assessors.) The Division Convener does not need to have soccer experience, and they  should not also be coaching in the same division as they are convening.

Assistant Convener x1-2 per division - The Assistant Convenor will assist the Div Convener  with their responsibilities and will act as the point of contact at the field when the DivConvener is absent.

Spring Ball Help - This role requires 1-2 hours of work in April to assist with inflating and  checking ball pressure.

Inventory Help - This role supports the Equipment Manager in the initial inventorying of  balls and equipment in the soccer field sheds. The busier time is in April before the season  begins.

Nets Spring and Fall - This role requires 2-3 hours of work in April and again in September  to install and remove the nets from the permanent goal posts at the soccer fields.

Year End Events- This role involves, with support from the board, the planning and running  of the soccer club's year end events and possibly other events during the season.
