Saugeen Shores United Football Club – Constitution Amendments

October 2018

 

Club President requests approval to amend the SSUFC Constitution for the below amendments.

 

Article 5/Page 3: Board of Directors

Changing BOD titles

3. Currently Treasurer

will change to Treasurer & Finance

4. Currently Registrar

will switch to Registrar & Corporate Secretary

6. Currently Secretary

will change to General Secretary

Operating Committee

10. Adding 2 (NEW) positions of Player Representative (1) male and (1) female those able to take this position must be 9 years of age or older. Will fall under Operating Committee to assist in the daily operations of The Club. The position will include but not limited.

  • *Liaisons between the players and The Club/Executive

  • *Help with Coaching/Volunteer appreciation

  • *Give feedback on clinics, camps, and training  

11. Creating Rep Manager position under the Operation Committee, will report to President/Board of Directors. The position will include but not limited;

  • *Escalation point for all rep team issues

  • *Help create & or update grading-assessment player tool

  • *Manages all coaches and team managers

  • *Attend league meetings as appropriate

  • *Attend club meetings and update Executive on status

Nominations & Elections

Current Wording

  1. Directors shall be elected for one (1) year term of office

Amendment would have -Board of Directors shall be elected for two (2) year term of office. As per the following even years President, Treasurer & Finance, and Head Coach. In odd years it will be VP, Registrar & Corporate Secretary and General Secretary. Those that sit, as Director at Large will be one (1) year term of office

Appendix 3 – Volunteer Policy; previous wording

The Clubs policy requires all volunteers providing direct supervision of players to submit an annual Criminal Referee Check, Including Vulnerable Sector Search. The Club will reimburse the cost of the Criminal Reference Check, including Vulnerable Sector Search

The Club’s policy requires all volunteers providing direct supervision of players to submit every third year a Criminal Reference Check (CRC), including Vulnerable Sector Search (VSS). The Club will reimburse the cost of the Criminal Reference Check, including Vulnerable Sector Search.


Create New Sub-section in the By-Laws Manual on Player Safety this documentation will cover the Clubs policies on all aspects of Player Safety, which will also include the Clubs Inclement Weather Policy and The Clubs Emergency Action Plan.
